30 Years

When I walked into the room housing Damien Hirst's The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living, I was overwhelmed with sadness. I saw the shriveled, decaying body of shark that took 30 years to make. I saw how rare and hard to replace it was, as overfishing stresses them and such length is rarer and rarer. this piece is a quiet monument to the shark that got swallowed up and forgotten.
